As well as having owned and managed rental properties for over 10 years, Alan has a wide knowledge of building related trades. Alan started his working career as a painter, and has since been involved in the fishing industry (including a stint as a manager in the Chatham Islands), and was for various periods of time site foreman for CraigPine Timber Ltd, yard foreman for Central Otago Lumber, and Trade Yard Manager for Mite 10, Wanaka.
Both Ewan and Alan, as a matter of course, have attended to all of the maintenance and repairs of their own rental properties, so have many years of knowledge and experience related to maintenance issues.
